And unless Ford sells plenty of small, slow cars to bring their CAFE down, they will have to increase the prices of the thirstier cars to offset the fines.
See though that's the issue I'm having. Imagine how much HP we could get out of a 400+ CI V8 engine now instead of dumbing it down just to appease certain idiots.

And on another note, any word on what kind of accessory wheels are available for the 12 if any?

Great question... I'm really thinking about the Lava Red now and would really be interested in some dark rims.

No Lava Red for the GT/CS. '12 GT/CS colors are: Grabber Blue, Performance White, Yellow Blaze, Race Red, Black, and Ingot Silver.

I did notice that the reverse sensing system available on other GT's is not available with the GT/CS - likely because it would require a unique rear bumper and wouldn't be ordered in big enough quanities to justify the expense.

Even if CAFE regulations were completely repealed, I doubt there would be much demand for an engine that big in a Mustang. It may be fun to fantasize about it, but a bigger block means more weight, and weight is the enemy of performance. Leave the gigantic engines for trucks, I say.

I'll be the first to say now so, so many people don't have to keep asking, 2013 will bring next to no changes for the GT either, again except minor option changes, a color change or two, and maybe even the Brembo package available on the automatic.
I think you'll see more than just option changes for '13.

Can you still get the kona blue with brick red interior on the GT Premium. That would be my second choice.
Thanks

Yes, I tried it in the order banks and it accepted this combo.

Has anyone heard any rumors about MyKey for the 2012 mustang? This was hinted on when Jay Leno was interviewing a Ford rep about the Boss.

Not a matter of luck. It's my toy. The few times she'll be driving it (ie. road trip) I don't want her wrapping it around a tree. She's got her choice of the other 3 cars I own, that'd be her only reason to be behind the wheel.

You can still wrap it around a tree at 80mph.

My 2011 already has MyKey so I would expect 2012s would as well.

True, I'm more concerned that the last V8 RWD car she's driven was her dad's '78 LTD 25 years ago when she was learning to drive.

Has anyone heard what stripes are available with the Lava red? Is it just white and black, or are they going to have a special color or package? I am going to be ordering a 2012 Mustang GT and am still torn between Kona Blue, Black, and Lava Red.

I dialed into the order banks, entered a Lava Red '12 GT and the only over-the-top stripe color to appear in the options field was white (option code 852). No special package info for Lava Red either, and this new color is available on and Premium V6 or GT model.
