Not all dealers either know or care to tell you the truth about what is really going on. If you ordered a 2011 recently, expect delivery of a 2012. No matter what your dealer says, they are not building 2011's any more. The only ways one can be ordered is from another dealer that has it in stock, or if they had already ordered it a while ago and it just will happen to be on one of the last shipments of 2011s to come in. To get the 2011 and the better rebate to go with it, you will have to find one, not have one built. If you have one built, don't fear, there are a couple of upgraded things on the 2012 that are neat, and otherwise it is the same thing.

Yep, they aren't building 2011's anymore. Our 2011 MCA is now on a train in Waycross, GA. We ordered back on 10/26/2010 and hopefully will take delivery this weekend. We're getting it at X-plan, minus $2250 in rebates ($1000+$500+$750 Private Cash)

Here's the window sticker.

Yeah, my order was changed to a 2012. Guess my hopes of decent rebates/incentives go right out the window. Is there any way I can pull of an X-plan deal with the salesperson, being active duty military with no connections in the car business? I know I will get the base 500$ rebate. Thankfully, I didn't have to put down any funds for the ride, they will just add it to their lot if I don't want it, I guess.

There is a place called Blue Oval Network that has a forum you can ask if the have any extra X plan Pin numbers from employee's it is worth a shot to ask.. BUT read the forum "before you post" rules just to be safe Or if you are lucky sometimes a dealer will allow you to use one of their X plan pins . Now i have only heard of the later and consider that here-say or urban legend. so don't hold me to it. You can also join the EAA. Ex.Aircraft Assoc. Or i think if you join the MCA Mustang Club of America you gain access to them. and since you have no money down what have you got to lose by trying ?

how close is the 2011 price list to the 2012 one? i don't want to look like a fool trying to order a 2012 and the prices are significantly higher after I've already done my math on the 2011 pricing which I am now too late for.

Not much of a change when you consider that, just like everything else in life, inflation makes all prices go up.

I've seen you complaining on the other threads, I don't know if you realize that last year the security package was standalone, this year they package it with the HIDs, as the HIDs required the security package (because of shared wiring). The "other" package is for the rear backup sensing system. Because there are common components to both packages, if you order them together you get a credit. Yes, the GT went up $100 and the auto went up $100, but the base GT went down $100 and most of the other models and packages have little or no change. The car has added lighted vanity mirrors and Homelink, so that is part of the price increase there. In Canada, haven't checked the US guide in a few weeks, had a destination/delivery increase of about $100 but that is accounted for by higher transportation costs.

The main reasons for pushing to get an '11 is IF you want Sterling Grey, or if you're trying to take advantage of incentives on what would be considered "last year's model".
