2011 engine light on

Today my engine light came on in my 2011 gt. Only 10,000 miles on it. Seems early for it to come on. Any ideas out there?

Light

Have you checked the oil level lately? Some 5.0s have used oil during early miles.

Its just a sensor or something like that that has gone bad. Take it to the dealer and don't worry about it.

Hey Innovationguy13,

This could be quite a few things. I agree with David, you should bring it in to your Ford dealer for diagnosis. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to message me with your dealer, VIN, and contact info.

Do you really expect to get a CEL diagnosis on a web forum when the only symptom identified is that the light came on?

Maybe it was the 10,000 mile warning light.

I highly recommend everyone who has any high octane fuel in his blood to get a OBD II scanner. Especially once you go down the road of modding the vehicle. It could be as dmhines says, just a loose gas cap. If it turns out to be a gas cap I believe Ford charges $75 to reset the ECU when a OBD II reader could easily have done it for the same price.

You are right Dave, OBD II scanners are a great addition to any toolbox. A Swiss Army Knife for computer controled engines and transmissions.

Happened to me the other day. Was a cam sensor fault. Took it in. They cleared and tested it. Hasn't come back on yet. --- Could be lots of things though.
