Complete antenna delete
I'm going to be getting striped painted this year and was thinking of completely removing the antenna mount and mast. Patch the hole and paint it over.
Has anybody done this? Did you use one of those antennas that stick to inside the back window?

Antenna delete will be different.
The window antenna on my dad's '95 Lincoln works OK, you might be able to get something like that.
So you're gonna paint the hood and the fenders then?
Anything else?
What width stripes are you doing?

The stick on window antenna works fine. I deleted the antenna on mine two years ago. Had the **** thing filled with a metal patch and painted.
Now the only problem is that the window antenna does not work well in the front windsheild, I find that the coating on the windsheild stops it from getting good signal, but placed in the rear windsheild it works like a charm. I was having the same issue with gps, that went to the back as well. There is a small pocket the fits the gps antenna very well in the rear deck.

I was going to strip the hood with walnut shells because of the whole aluminum corrosion TSB and repaint. The front lip on my hood has some quarter sized bare aluminum spots on it. Looks like garbage. My front fender is rusting on the lip in the wheel well. Looks like a rock chip hit it and it spread. The front fenders have dings on them anyway and the front bumper looks like it went through a sand blaster. So the whole front of the car needs to be painted. I figure might as well do stripes while I'm at it. Some 10" wide metallic black ones is what I'm thinking with 2" spacing. Need to replace the front headlights too, all pitted. I plan on doing everything myself except running the paint gun. I can sand, POR-15, block, bondo, mask no problem.
I wasn't planning on putting the antenna on the front windshield. Between the EZ pass and radar detector there isn't any room for it anyway.
