Hope there's not a pattern.

Wow thats a random claim. Could of been brake fluid or one of 6000 other reasons, and only one was doing it, and no description of what 'loosing' means, nor pictures. Could of just been dirt on the rim.

Good thing I'm getting mine bead blasted and powdercoated black. I haven't heard many having this problem though

Thanks for posting some pics Earl.
Whats' the real weight of these wheels ?? I e-mailed American Racing directly to inquire about the weight. Here's their response:

Robert,

Thank you for your interest in American Racing! The wheel weighs about 21 lbs.

Sincerely,

American Racing

21lbs sounds too good to be true. Would be nice, though! I don't really consider 26lb wheels "lightweight".

I would think that 26.5lbs is accurate.
The gunmetal 18x9s are 25.5lbs according to websites I've seen

Well, I just ordered the silvers, so they weigh what they weigh! These wheels are just too bad *** to pass up! I guess it makes sense that the chromes would be slightly heavier than the others.

I'm looking forward to seeing my first pix of 40mm offset razors.

Ok, I have been comtemplating rims for about one year now, and I think for price and what I want, I have decided on these.

Just for reference before I buy anything I want to get everything correct.

I am going to get 20's. I want around 255 on the front and 295 on the back. From what I have read would I be best to get the 24mm offset on the front and the 40mm offset on the rear? And what size of sidewall tires would also best fit? My car is not lowered right now, but I plan to lower it when I have wheels.

I would think you'd want the same offset all the way around. I went with 265/35/20's all the way around with the 24mm offset. The car is lowered with Steeda Ultra Lites (1" in fron 1.25" in rear). I wouldn't recommend going any lower or bigger tires as I'm a little worried about rubbing as it is. The tires do stick out of the fender walls a hair. No rubbing YET though...but probably could if I really bottomed her out.

ehh, I don't really care about the name-dropping. If my car WAS a Shelby, maybe.

Yea, I don't care about the name really, just like the snalke center cap better than the AR logo

hmmm, I think there's a forum member who ordered the Shelby caps separately for his AR razors. They DO look better.

I was going to say, others have just picked up the Shelby center cap and put them on the AR razors.

That's exactly the reason for going with the 40mm offset on the rear.
