Go to Sear's, Lowe's, Home Depot etc and buy an easy out set. They don't cost that much. It's not hard to do. I know Don could do it!

UPDATE: After my 20-mile commute this morning (a combination of stop & go, and highway traffic), I can safely say I believe throttle response is definitely more crisp in the sub-3000rpm range. I notice it when under normal acceleration (no WOT chances during rush hour... hehe), like pulling away from a light, or when passing on the highway. It's not an "OMG" type feeling, but it is a improvement well worth 100 bucks or so. It will be a bonus if it helps at the track, too!! Add me to the satisfied buyers list.

Don - did you disconnect the battery during install???........

YES, you disconnect the batter during install cause you are removing the plugs from the throttle body. The thing with the plugs, if you don't know how to get them off the throttle body, here's how they come off.


1. Pull the red plastic clip/cover on the plug until you can't pull no more.

2. Pinch the middle area of the plug

3. Pull the plug out

Took me a while to figure that out but i finally got it and its easy to remove.

Okay - THAT's what I wanted to know - cause Bryan brought up a good point about disconnecting the battery and the car 'resetting' itself - I wanted to make sure that was not what generated the better throttle response - but Don if oyu didn;t and are experiencing better performance........ CRAP I just might have to pop $100 for this puppy..... (as long as it fits with a JLT...)

By the looks of it, it should. The JLT doesn't come out as far as the K&N and C&L, at least it sure appears that way.

Well darn it. I've been following this post since the start, and now I have to buy one even though I plan on getting the BBK TB sometime. Thanks guys for making me spend money . . . there goes the tint job.

Well, disappointing news everyone - even though UPS had two days to try to deliver my spacer, they managed not to on either day (they're real pita's about having someone sign for it). And, to my surprise and disappointment, they aren't even open tomorrow for me to go pick it up. That, and it turns out I have to work all weekend. So my fun little plan of dyno'ing the spacer on Saturday and sharing with you all the results will not happen, as Monday will be the earliest I'll get the spacer. Total f'n bs, and I'm pissd.

Sorry to disappoint. If no one beats me to it, though, I'll do it next weekend.

ups just left in in front of my door! they do that with everything. they did that with 4 brand new tires not even boxed...just sitting in front of my door for everyone to steal!

I just ordered a digital video cam online, and they dropped it off at the front door. :nono:

I am going to go ahead and order the intake spacer.

But how do I go about extending the passenger side hose?

Is there a specific type of hose or can I just go to Loews or any automotive part store and get one. What length?

I just stopped by the local Autozone today and bought a 12" piece of 3/8" ID vent hose (cost me $1.07 w/tax). I cut the stock plastic vent line in half. I used about 4"-5" of the hose to "couple" the two stock pieces together by sliding the stock pieces inside the hose about 1.5" - 2" on each side. It is a nice, tight fit, so no clamps or anything is needed (in fact, I had to put a couple drops of 3-in-1 oil on the stock parts to slide the hose over them).

I will wait for the numbers also. I have used them before but then they were called adapters. Installing a four barrels on manifolds that were not drilled for them. Don't have a clue if they worked. The carb sure did.

You went to alot more trouble than I did. I just pulled the ends off of the factory hose and used an entire new piece of hose.

Mine is manual too Dave.
Even though the dip shows to be 3 to 4 k on my dyno sheet also, that is not where the flat spot was. It was actually 2, to 3300 rpm on mine.

OH yea sure...when I say it works and that I also did not disconnect my batter, no one listens. Yet Don says the same thing and now suddenly everyone is buying one and installing with no care of disconnecting the battery...fine then!
