I was thinking you guys ment "constant resonating soundwaves" (like at highway speeds) in the cabin by the term drone..... The annoying sound that drives you crazy on long trips. Guess I was wrong. lol...
That's what I thought they were talking about as well

I have flowmaster's new kit ...... I like mine better because they have no drown and no interior noise because they are so far rear. ....
How is that possible? Even the stock exhaust has a little drone noise that can be heard and the exhaust you got it louder than stock. [/b][/quote]
Maybe it focus' the sound more to the rear and out of the muffler instead of resonating it into the cabin like the stocker?

O.K. I went and got the 40 series put on the 05 mustang and I really like them.
Low rumble sound to them but not to loud. Really sounds better than the stock in my opinion. As far as the horsepower loss. well I pulled the hydrocarbon out so that made up for the loss horsepower on the mufflers.

yes the drown was compared to my 1990 5.0 around 1800 on the freeway it would drive me nuts. Anyway I don't know when Flowmaster will be producing the kit, but Joe at flowmaster has mine dyno sheets with the new style mufflers for 05'. They increased 6 hp and 11 tq. The car is 5 speed and had 800 miles on it.

I've got the 40 series on my 05 GT, and I'm impressed w/ the sound. By no means does it sound as agressive as my built 92 GT, but at the same time it has a rumble even w/ the Cats still on.
There isn't much out there that sounds better than a mustang w/ flowmasters

What's the risk of removing the mufflers alltogether? I have it run without them and it isn't that load. How much performance do you lose?
