The Challenger Hellcat was one of the most talked about cars of last year. Even though the S550 Mustang debuted last year, too, the Hellcat grabbed the lion’s share of press attention. You couldn’t pick up a magazine or turn on your computer without seeing some reference to Dodge’s newest muscle car.

However, not everyone wants a 707-horsepower boat. Some people like their cars to be a bit more svelte, but still have the insane amount of horsepower the Hellcat offers. Enter a nitrous-powered Coyote Mustang 5.0.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait for someone to bring a nitro ‘Stang and a Hellcat together on some street in the boondocks to see what actually happens when they square off. Because the video below provides the comparison we’re looking for. And the results. Careful though, there’s a little bit of NSFW language.

An older guy in our local car club has a Hellcat and he told me he still hasn't used the fast key. Apparently they give you two keys for the car, one for street and one for the optimum performance. He said me that he has only gone half throttle with the street key so far and got scared. I guess he only bought the Hellcat just to 'have it'. It sure will make a great non abused used car for someone one day. He is in his 80's so I give him credit for even owning one. Sure beats the typical old fart Buick when he cruises into the local grocery store.
