This one might offend some of you.
Here in America we live in the land of the free range V8s, with plenty of maker-diverse options to choose from. Due to the bountiful availability of choices, by now, it is common knowledge that there is no such thing as a safe space for engine swaps here.
Yet someone did the unholiest of all Mustang swaps by mating a twin-turbo 427 LSX onto an ‘89 Fox Body Mustang. And then they ran it at the LS Fest, which you can see in the video below. As for die-hard Mustang purists, this may cause some of you to yell “foul play,” but consider watching the video first.
The car, named the Cobra Commander, was built with one goal in mind: to go as fast as possible, no matter what’s under the hood. It does wheelies off the line, can pull consistent 8-second quarter miles, and is currently looking to run in the 7s. With this car bearing so much awesomeness, can you really stay mad at this guy?
