Looks like the 2016 Camaro finally surfaced. Just from the pics they have it doesn't look any different or smaller then the current one.

Still looks ugly too.
Are there any upgrades to the 2016?

Anyways, you're correct about the platform. The Camaro will utilize the Alpha platform.
On a side note....Did those A-pillars get larger?haha

I think this is just old body panels covering up new stuff underneath as someone else mentioned it will share the Cadillac ats chassis supposedly people connected with GM part suppliers say that the next gen car is supposed to take styling cues from the second gen early 1970s models. I'm curious to see if they can fix the laundry list of complaints they have had with the current gen
GM has said the styling will be more evolutionary than revolutionary. So I expect much the same.

Auto makers have been churning out let down after let down. New models that are the same speed or slower than the out going model. In most cases uglier also! I wont hold my breath with the new Camaro, im hoping it will be bad *** but it looks like the bean counters are ruining the auto industry! They just want to give enough to keep all the dull boring masses happy with more doo dads and tech trinkets! Gone is the passion for biulding truly awsome fun cars for the masses!

Looks like some newer, closer shots, not that they reveal a whole lot more:

While it looks like the 2016 might retain the generally loathed bath-tub belt line and gun-bunker greenhouse profile, I wonder if the camo is simply trying to fake that impression (some subtle lines seem to hint to a lower beltline and airier greenhouse)? The overall impression seems more closely evolutionary of the current 1967'esque retro style than a newer Camaro iconography or more radical redo.

Looks like a very evolutionary, for better and worse, take on the current Camaro.
For worse: they seem to be keeping perhaps the most reviled aspect, its gun-bunker slit of a greenhouse.
For better: the overall lines really aren't bad at all, except for that greenhouse.
Hopefully, where Ford larded up the Mustang in 2015, Chevy will take that opening and trim down the Camaro for 2016. Will they meet in the middle size/weight wise?
