Trouble Codes P0345 and P0349
I received the above two codes onmy scanner today. Is this the sign that everyone talks about when they have a bad alternator? If so where is a good place to get a replacement alternator that wont break the bank.
Thanks

It could be one of two things. First one is a bad altenator or it could be a bad cam sensor. I had this same code come up on my stang today. According to my Haye's repair manual it means an intermitent malfunction on the 2nd bay cam sensor. I had my brother-in-law check my altenator and it was fine. I just dropped my car off at the dealership an hour ago and they will check it out 2morrow. I'll keep you posted as to what they come up with.
PO345: Camshaft Position Sensor A, circuit malfunction (Bank 2)
PO349: Camshaft Position Sensor A circuit, Interrmittent (Bank 2)

PO349: Camshaft Position Sensor A circuit, Interrmittent (Bank 2)

If it is your alternator look into finding some brushes or a rebuild kit for it. I replaced the brushes on my wifes 05 explorer for under $15. google rebuilding alternators and you should get some good info.
