Passenger Seat Height - Problem?
#1
One comment that seemed to come up on numerous 2005 Mustang reviews that I read was that the passenger seat is a bit low, particularly for those “altitudinally challenged” passengers. Apparently, some passengers have trouble seeing over the dashboard. In one review it was indicated that Ford was aware of this issue and was working on a fix (maybe an adult booster chair accessory ).
A couple questions on this:
1. Those with an ’05, is this your experience with shorter passengers?
2. Has the seat height on the ’06 been increased?
With my ’06 GT delivery in a few weeks away, just wondering if I will encounter visibility complaints from my shorter passengers.

I just tell them they don't want to see whats in front of them..
Or carry a pillow
Yes, because the seat is not power and cannot be moved up and down..I've had complaints.
I just tell them to shut their yapper or get out

I took my 10 year old grandson for a ride and he couldn't see
out of the windshield. He just kept looking at me and how fast
the speedometer was moving!
Ford should really address this problem. At first I thought I was
sitting in my daughters old Camaro.
In the meantime, if anyone else complains about it I'll just use
my "eject" button. You'll need to see the pics.

My wife is 4-11 and she brings a booster cushion with her on trips.
I was wondering if there is a possibility to change the seat to make it higher or add a power seat option.

Exactly how tall does the passenger have to be to see over the dash? My girlfriend is 5'7. Would she have trouble seeing out the front window? I'm just curious.

Ford most likely did this because they want to create as much roomyness as possible, and not have people complain that they cant fit in the car. Being 6'3, and driving with my seat at the lowest possible position, I would have been quite angry if the passenger seat was high up cause then people my size could not get in the car.
Like someone else said, they dont need to see over the dash, as long as thier in there its all good

The thing is is that the dash is a bit taller than most cars. You have the 2 guage upgroves, except there aren't any guages on the passenger side. I bet you if the rise wasn't on the right hand side it would appear to make you believe the seat was higher.

I've had the complaint. My wife is 5'0" and complained just the other day. Forget the kids, they can't see at all.
Before people start yappin, yes, they are old enough to be in the front seat.
