113 Fahrenheit + 100 MPH= Tire Blowout
Ok.. so Im driving at 100mph (cruise control on) and suddenly the tire blowout! I didnt feel like I was losing control but the shake of the rear wheel was terrible... My tire was a BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 , I had only 5 months with it!! , The tire damaged the car as you can see at the pics... For those speed lovers... be careful!

Man, that stinks! At least your or no one else was hurt though. Did you ever figure out what might have caused the blowout in the first place???? It is definitely not very comforting to see pics like that.

I personally think the tire was defective or size-to-rim specs were out. At 100 mph the 113F temp probably had nothing to do with it, that tire was hot as heck already. I'm always in the 100 mph arena on the German autobahns, depending on traffic. You rarely hear of blow-outs over here, usually slow leaks that give you some warning.

Nothing caused the tire blowout, I think just the speed+heat, didnt hit any rock or had any other trouble...
Ouch. Glad to hear the only things hurt were your tire, wheel, and bumper. How much did you have it inflated to?
Let me guess Phoenix? Anyway heat and speed never mix, I doubt it was a defective tire or anyting like that.

It's called a slow leak, and as the tire lost air the tire flexes more, building up heat and quickly deteriorates from the inside until total failure.
See it all the time at work. Real good chance you can find a puncture in the tread area, just look closely.
Those are my favorite ones when they come in and the customer says my tire is defective.
Analogy. Bend a metal coat hanger back and forth several times, then feel the metal at the bend, its gets warm/hot. Same thing with the steel belts in the tire.

Actually, yes they do, I see it a few times at least every month. It's one of the reasons the government requires tpms on all new cars.
To let you know you have a low tire before its too late.

100mph with the cruise on glad yer alive
Did TPMS come on?
Minor detail maybe, but how long where you cruising at speed before the blow-out?
