Will non-synthetic oil hurt my car?

I own an '03 Cobra with minor mods (cold air kit, pulley, custom tune). I just got the car back from an oil change at a dealership and they put Synthetic Blend instead of Full Synthetic. Any mechanics here know if the blend oil will hurt my engine? I know the owners manual recommends Mobile 1 Synthetic so I dunno if I should go back and have them drain my 1 day old oil get some new stuff and eat the $45 I just spent or should this work for now.

I would not have left till they fixed their mistake. It clearly states in the owners manual that it requires full synthetic. Get the manager to make it right and report this to Ford. have them comp you for gas and mileage while you are at it with a tire rotation or wait.... never mind they might put the rims on backwards...

You have a gripe with the dealer for sure. I am sure he will change the oil out for pure synthethic if you pressed the issue. But I agree with others that the semi-synthethic stuff will not hurt anything at all.

As long as the syn-blend meets the same service description that the car calls for it shouldn't be a problem.

On the otherhand, if a synthetic is called for by the factory - the dealer (or any oil change facility) are the experts, they should have realized this and they should have consulted you before they filled the engine with syn-blend. I would say they immediately owe you another oil & filter change to correct the situation free of charge.
