I've done some cursory internet research, and I've come up with 4 shaker hood add-ons (to convert a non-functioning hood scoop into a working one, or replacing the fake one altogether w/ one similar to the Mach 1 scoop). They are Classic Design Concepts, Karkraft, Team Shinoda, and one sold at Mustangtuning.com (unsure of manufacturer, not listed). Has anyone on this board ever installed one, and/or have any comments on this upgrade?

My initial impression is that it is awfully expensive, and not that effective. However, as someone who does not like fake stuff, it seems like a neat idea.

I have a 2004 GT, and I am too poor to go trade it in for a Mach 1. I wish I'd done more research before I bought the car, but I'm not upset w/ it. Heck, I went to the dealership to get another Ford Ranger, and instead I drove off w/ my car. I am new to the Mustang "cult" (not an insult, I'm enjoying these boards), and I'm just exploring options for adding to the car. I just would like to find one of these scoops at a reasonable cost, not the $500 plus I'm finding.

Only two types of air coming into an engine hot air or cold air and if your getting cold air form the fender, cold air form up top aint gonna do much for you, although that shaker does stroke your ego.

you'll get more air from the scoop then the fender....and it can easily be cooler cause it will actually be moving and not stagnant
