Project Kona Blue 88 GT - engine tech questions

I just finally got the time and funds to start working on my 88 GT again. Started cleaning it up and sent the engine to the shop back in Summer 2012. This past month I sent the car to the body shop/painter who is about 95% complete and painted. The car is now 2015 Kona Blue and the work he did is fantastic. All 1993 Cobra bodywork plus a nice Cervini's ram air fiberglass hood. The 347 longblock is also complete and ready to put in the car once I get it back from paint/body and install the new k-member. I still need to pick a compatible intake for the engine, and need some help. Below are the engine specs, so any experienced builders or fellow project veterans who know the correct intake for this setup, please provide some feedback based on experience. Also, my goal for this engine is to stay NA and streetable with the occasional trip yearly to the drag strip or road course. Here are the specs:

-stock block 302 original from car (cleaned up, hot tanked, honed, bored)
-Eagle forged crank and rods, Mahle forged pistons, 347 stroker setup @ 9:1 static compression (builder said it will crank to a max of 6800 rpm)
-61cc chamber 170cc runner Trick Flow Heads
-Comp 1.6 ratio stud mount Ultra roller rockers w/Comp roller lifters
-Comp custom ground cam: .576 lift intake, .571 lift exhaust, duration @ .006 280 intake and 288 exhaust, 113 lobe separation
-Canton zink kickout road race style oil pan with custom oil bung for power adder

I'm thinking of going with either a TF Track Heat or TF Street Heat intake. Also, depending on the throttle body intake size, I might go with a 75mm to 80mm TB. Lastly, I have no idea which injectors to go with, and what LPH pump for the tank. I would really appreciate any input you guys can provide. Thanks and I look forward to talking with y'all.

~Jason

Thank you, SpectreH. I loved the color on the new Mustangs, so it should look great on the Fox Body I'm hoping.

I'm assuming that you are a Spectre Gunship crew member there at WRAFB?

I used to write the software for the navigation and fire control system on the AC-130H. Since they retired that model, I now test the software on the WC-130J Hurricane Hunters.

Ahhh, that makes sense. As a former Army grunt, I appreciate anyone who worked on the Spectre since we loved having them around in combat. Sounds like a fun job. Did you have to incorporate the firing tables from the 105mm arty piece into your computer programming?

Yes, we had that for the 40 and 105 mm. We gave it the ability to train the guns on separate targets and engage simultaneously. As one FCO put it, "train the 105 on the anthill, pick off the ants with the 40 when they run out".

I always liked watching the CAS and CCA support take care of the dirtbag Taliban in droves. "***** Pete" is my favorite form of terrorist eradication. It's also about as fun to watch as a kid at his first 4th of July fireworks show.

Thank you! I've been lucky enough to have this car since high school in the 90's, and it's a great feeling to be bringing her back to life again.

UPDATE: So, I have been doing a bunch of research and toying around with different induction combinations for the 347. Based on my plans for it to be a hot street car that can pull some great 1/4 times once or twice a year, as well as budget constraints, I am going to go with a TFS Track Heat, 75mm throttle body, 90mm MAF, and a CX Racing twin turbo setup running about 12psi. The 347 in current form has 9.01:1 static compression, so with a good tune on the FAST ecu, it should be safely able to run up to 12psi and put down about 580hp to the wheels. Not sure if anyone here has used Dyno5Sim before; it's amazing! I would definitely recommend the software before you build an engine. I got all specs and airflow information straight from TFS for the intake and heads. The specs for the forged rotating assembly and cam are straight from my custom grind cam card and Eagle's website. I input all data and ran several "dyno" runs and tried out different intake types and runner lengths to complement a turbo setup with the cam I already have. The numbers at just 10psi intercooled with a 70% intercooler efficiency was outstanding! With a good safe tune, this car is going to be a screamer. My big question is: who out there is running a CX Racing twin turbo setup, and what will I need to purchase that the kit doesn't come with (real world install)? Luckily, I already have a oil bung welded into my Canton Oil Pan since I planned to supercharge or turbocharge the engine when it was being built. Very excited to be firing up the engine in the next few months. I'll post pictures once I pick up the painted car next week.

Update 2: Got the car back from paint and body. The guy did a fantastic job and finished it all off with a wet-sand and polish as requested. The paint looks like glass and I'm in love with the color

. Here, judge for yourself:

Thanks ElkGroveFordGuy. I'm slowly but surely moving this project forward. Might even have it on the road by next Christmas. That's the goal.
