New Mid-Cycle Mustang Changes Will Include Adding Shelby Design Cues.

If you’ve been saving up to buy a new Ford Shelby GT350, you’ll probably find this bit of news exciting.

It appears that Ford will continue to sell the GT350 model during the 2018 model year, even amid the introduction of a new top-range Mustang under the GT500 moniker, according to Motor Authority. The report also indicates that while the GT350 will probably be excluded from most of the updates in the works, the 2018 model might get a few new color options.

Sure, the idea of having to opt for a new GT350 over a GT500 might not seem like the optimal strategy for Mustang fans being forced to choose between the least expensive of the two. But if you consider the potential collectible value of the GT350 down the road, it might ease the pain.

Then again, if cash is a major issue, you might want to consider this as well: with the new updates, the Mustang GT is expected to pick up some of the design cues from the GT350. So, if it’s the Shelby look you’re going for, you might want to wait it out and do a cost analysis on the GT model. That actually offers new Mustang buyers the best of both worlds.

Well, that’s unless you’re planning on tracking your new Mustang. In that case, you’re much better off going with the Shelby. The GT350 will probably still be a much more compelling purchase for die-hard performance buffs, even with the updates being planned for the Mustang GT.
