Florida College Student Wins Shelby GT500
After entering a sweepstakes through the Amazon.com Facebook page in early November, the 22-year-old college student learned he’d won a black 2014 Shelby GT500, according to a Florida Today report.
Bergin, a student at Nova Southeastern University, won the 662-horsepower Mustang in Amazon’s “Need for Speed” Car Giveaway, part of a promotional campaign for the upcoming DreamWorks film.
According to the Florida news report, Bergin had to pay roughly $1,200 in fees for the car, but the hefty $61,060 MSRP and sales tax was covered by Amazon.
Not bad considering that before winning the Shelby GT Bergin was driving his dad’s 1998 Pontiac Bonneville that has a broken driver’s side window. Now, Bergin’s biggest challenge will be trying to maintain that perfect record of never being issued a speeding ticket.
