A V6 Mustang that Can Beat a Nissan GT-R?

Turbo V6 Mustang

If you haven’t noticed, I don’t like the V6 being in the new Mustang. It just doesn’t make sense. It gets worse gas mileage, there’s not enough power, and the car is just heavy. It’s not my cup of tea. However, I will admit that it’s a great platform to boost the hell out of to run around usually much-faster cars. The proof is in the video.

The video pits a modified Nissan GT-R against a modded V6 Mustang. They don’t really get into the details, but according to the description, the Mustang is running a turbo nitrous setup and what looks to be drag slicks, while the GT-R has supposedly 720 whp, but it doesn’t say how. My guess is probably upgraded turbos with the boost cranked up.

I like sleeper cars like this Mustang. Here you have something that other people think will be slow as all hell, but then it takes off like a frightened dog in an Ice Bucket Challenge fail video. It’s hilarious to see the other driver’s face, too. I will admit, though, that it sounds like the engine in the Mustang is going to explode every time they get on it, which would make me super nervous. Hopefully for their sake it won’t grenade, but that engine just doesn’t sound right.
