’91 Fox Body Making Lots of Noise on Racing Circuit
When you hear of a Fox Body running a 4.62, you tend to take notice.
That’s why we’ve taken a special interest in this 1991 Mustang LX owned by Jon Thomas, who is making quite a name for himself among X275 competitors, as highlighted in a Mustang 360 report.
Jon’s Mustang is powered by a Bennett Racing 350ci small-block with a single Garrett GTX 55-85 turbo unit. That’s paired with a TCI Pro-X transmission. The car’s suspension set-up comes courtesy of Racecraft, with Santhuff struts up front and Southern Speed Racing-spec Afco shocks in the rear.
The Fox Body’s exterior includes a font end from Schoneck Composites, with glass doors from a company called Motor City. The wheels on Jon’s Mustang are from Weld Racing, with Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials Pros in the rear.
Clearly, it all has proven to be a pretty successful formula, which we’ll certainly be keeping an eye on here at The Mustang Source in the months to come.
