2.0L EcoBoost Swap: Project Ugly Horse

While most want their good ol’ American V8 under the hood of their muscle car, some aficionados would happily trade outright horsepower for less weight, better fuel economy and still stellar performance. How might someone achieve that in their Mustang, you ask, why with a 2.0L EcoBoost swap of course!

The Fox owner and Autoblog editor, Zach Bowman is already knee-deep in the fabrication-heavy build in the hopes of paving the way for future swaps. Why on earth would you want a four-banger under the hood of your Mustang? Well, with 252 HP and 270 LB-FT in a lightweight package you’re looking at the potential rebirth of the SVO! And with factory forced induction you know it’s just itching for more boost!

Along with the M-6007-20T FRPP crate engine, Bowman will also be swapping in an IRS and has already been working with the Mustang suspension gurus at Maximum Motorsports on how to best make the new engine, transmission and rearend fit. Stay tuned, it should be one cool build!
